The bottom pond has continued to provide the majority of good fishing during the week with fish being caught mainly along the west facing banks from Pipe Bay through to Farmhouse Bay. Ken Bowring, Gwyn Davies and Aberdare member Bill Seward all achieved the catch and release limit of eight fish. Seven fish returns were made by a number of anglers including Keith Higgins and Roger Martin, with Steve Docherty, day ticket visitor W.R. Williams and Ian Hewitt recording five fish returns. Four fish totals were landed by Mark Southwood, Shaun Cotterell, Ian Wootton, James Francis, Nigel Burge, Terry O’Connor and Paul Jenkins. Anglers catching three rainbows included Chris Chapman, Cardiff member Alan Rees, Chris Taylor, Roy Jones, Dave Woods, Steve Kean, Les Murphy and T. Edwards. Two fish bags went to Dave Howells, Jeff Wilson, Rob Watkins, Mark Roberts, Arthur Murphy, Alun Paul and committee members John Mcindo, Phil Harper and Keri Jones. The majority of those mentioned landed fish from Pipe Bay, the Boat Bank as far as the Bush and in Farmhouse Bay from the steps to the shallower end of the bay. Two boat sessions for Ken Pascoe brought a total of 10 fish, with regular boat user Keith Higgins catching three fish from his day session. Successful patterns included Damsel Nymphs, Hoppers, Emergers, CdC and Shipman’s Buzzers, Pheasant Tail Nymphs, and small black gnat imitations.

At the weekend most fishing activity took place on the bottom pond and again from Pipe Bay to Farmhouse Bay. Amongst the weekend returns Keith Higgins fished from the bank to land seven fish while Dave Arlotte concentrated on Pipe Bay close to the water inlet, landing seven fish mainly using a Hare's Ear pattern. Cardiff permit holder Alan Rees fished an afternoon session to take a six fish bag. Ken Bowring worked hard to land his four fish from Pipe Bay while committee member Keri Jones caught three fish. Most other anglers returned with a two fish catch, including new member David Price, Nigel Burge, Terry O'Connor, Kevin Pinkney, Graham Ingram Evans, James Francis, Chris Daniels, Rob Watkins and Richie Young. Sally Ann Iles used her day ticket membership to land her two fish, with visitor Gail Marsh also landing two trout. Successful flies over the weekend included Black Hoppers, Shipman’s Buzzers and Hare's Ear Nymphs.
