Swanswater Fishery, Stirlingshire
This week saw the start of the really cold nights and the water temperature dropped to 4.5C. Anglers changed to intermediate lines and fished mostly lures, deeper in the water and with a slow retrieve. Although the weather was cold, it was settled with only around 16mm of rain midweek. As a result the water remains very clear and conditions are excellent leading to some great sport. The cold wind towards the end of the week kept the fish down between 3 and 5 feet. Favourite patterns included Cat’s Whisker, Damsel, Cormorant, Dancer, Humungus, Nomad, and Buzzer. The Fishery is now open from 8am to 4.30pm every day.
