Swanswater Fishery, Stirlingshire
The week started with a couple of cloudy days and some excellent fish-ing. However, as the week went on, the hot sunny conditions made things a bit tougher. The fish were to be found deep down and a slow retrieve was needed to tempt them. The bank between the dam and the big tree was the best area, although tigers, browns and big golds were seen cruising around the bridge. The boats were also having some success as anglers were able to get down deeper further from the shore. Some evenings there was a slight rise particularly if there was some cloud cover. On Sunday and Monday nymphs and wet flies were taking fish, but for most of the week lures, Buzzers and Blood-worm were most successful. Favourite patterns included Goldhead Damsel, Green Nymph, Dancer, Tadpole, Buzzer, Bloodworm, Bibio and Black Spider. The Fishery is open every day from 8am to 10pm
